There’s nothing quite as special as pumpkins in autumn. Maybe you’re heading to the pumpkin patch, staying cozy in your kitchen doing some baking, or looking for “gourd-geous” decorating tips—or all of the above! We don’t blame you, fall is the perfect time to relax and enjoy all that pumpkins have to offer.
- There are a variety of pumpkin patches around Nebraska, and one for every price range. Vala’s Pumpkin Patch is widely known as the largest. Tickets range from $13.99 to $17.99, with special Monday-Thursday pricing of $11.25. More than just pumpkins, they offer live shows, shopping, mazes, and enough play equipment for the kid in all of us.
- Roca Berry Farm is just a quick drive Southeast of Lincoln, and has a cozy family friendly atmosphere. You can get a season pass for $23.99. Or, if you’re really brave, purchase a ticket to the Sinister Circus Psychopath Haunted Manor for $19.99. Just don’t invite us to come along.
- But for the most bang for your buck visit Minden, Nebraska’s Nielsen Kids UPick Pumpkin and Sweetcorn Patch. Their pumpkin pricing is impossible to beat, and they proudly implement the honor system—no weighing, and no sticker shock! Giant pumpkins usually run around $10.
Once you’ve unloaded all of the pumpkins, put them to good use in your kitchen. For authentic flavor spend the extra time to use a pie pumpkin, but there’s no shame in popping open a can either. We can’t stop dreaming about this Pumpkin-Espresso Tiramisu.
